JERRY MATT
Jerry was one of the two original
founders of K.I.D.S. INC., He served as our
Vice President, Chief Consultant and Senior Trainer for over (11)
years. Jerry retired as a supervisor/trainer of narcotic canine
detection teams for a Drug Enforcement Agency task force in
California Prior to coming to K.I.D.S., Inc. His (34) years in law
enforcement were dominated by his (28) years as a narcotics task
force supervisor, the past (18) of that has been as a
trainer/handler of narcotic detection canines. During this time he
was appointed as a member of the law enforcement and education cadre
in California. He was a 1996 graduate of the US Border Patrol
National Canine Facility
Instructors
course for detection canines, founding board member, past president
and training coordinator for the California Narcotics Canine
Association (C.N.C.A.), past certifying official for the National
Narcotic Detector Dog Association and C.N.C.A. In 1989 he graduated
from the National Danish Police detector dog instructors course in
Arhus, Denmark. He was recognized internationally as an instructor
and consultant. In addition, Jerry served as a qualified expert
witness on a state and federal level in the training and handling of
narcotic detection canines. He had received numerous citations and
awards recognizing his expertise in the field of narcotics
interdiction. *Jerry's training techniques and professional
standards are, and will continue to be trained and practiced by
those of us at K.I.D.S. INC. Jerry Matt was a close personal
friend, partner and colleague of mine and I had the honor of first
meeting Jerry in Edinburg, Texas back in 1989. Since 1992, Jerry
and I have worked closely together to bring together one of the most
recognized detection canine companies in the nation and more
important, recognized for our professional standards and training.
Although Jerry will truly be missed, his kind heart and strong influence in the detection canine industry will NEVER be forgotten.
